The Coronavirus Task Force addresses the outbreak, while a stimulus package stalls in the Senate for the second day.

The U.S. reported more than 41,000 confirmed cases, trailing only Italy and China. Confirmed cases are a function of how much testing is done, experts say. The national death toll reached 499. Globally, more than 16,000 people have died of the virus and 367,000 people have been confirmed to have it, according to the Johns Hopkins University data dashboard.
